My name is Sheira Kahn, and I provide counseling for individuals, couples, people with eating disorders and their families in San Francisco and Marin. My offices are accessible from Berkeley, Albany, Oakland, and Sonoma. If you are out of state, I may be able to offer you coaching over the phone.
Eating disorders, substance abuse, and couples' issues can be traced to
attachment wounds. I therefore work with people on many levels, from
providing tools and strategies to addressing the basic human need of
secure bonds with others - and with ourselves.
This website has information about general treatment along with articles about anorexia, bulimia and compulsive overeating. My writing focuses not only on solutions, but on the underlying causes of the problems we face.
